Devlog #1


The biggest update in this post if probably that levels 4-8 are completely finished!

Level 4 is the first truly safe level of the game, giving players a time to relax and prepare for the next levels.

Level 5 is full of tons of loot, but also many dangers. Go with caution.

Level 6 is a nearly pitch black maze where sanity is your biggest concern.

Level 7 is a flooded house that is mostly safe... When the lights go dark the beast comes up, you better be able to run.

Level 8 is a dark cave system and has the most entities in the entire game so far, and has many entities return from earlier levels.

Level 0 overhaul

The reason for this change was that it was necessary in my opinion. The old version of Level 0 didn't really give Backrooms vibes, I feel like it was captured much better in the overhaul! The more yellowish green carpet is a vat improvement from the dark brown carpet, the paler walls with a smaller pattern capture the original image better, and the more yellow tinted roof finishes it off.

VHS filter update

The screenshot used in the Level 0 overhaul is actually somewhat outdated due to me wanting to show the level's natural colors. I have since updated the VHS filter to look much more accurate to a real VHS camera

What I did was add the weird little distortion at the bottom and boost the saturation to create a more authentic feeling VHS camera filter.
